It's worth noting that he's wearing a uniform. A sheriff uniform. He went out and got drunk see, so he's trying to just figure things out. Those of you who might pass by, if you're in the neighborhood will note he reeks of alcohol.]

How many of you are actual law enforcement professionals, former, retired, here for rehabilitation or whatever. No disrespect t'anybody who's workin' outside the law for justice. Lord knows I earned my stripes on a wing and a prayer but...

He never thought he'd actually be doing this. It feels so weird. He'd left this, the idea of law and order behind but oh god he needs normalacy, he needs people that aren't blue with giant heads that think he's an animal. Ever seen the Matrix where Neo realizes just how screwed he is and he throws up? Shane is close to that.]

There's no official hierarchy amongst the wardens. Unfortunately.

Some are more influential and respected than others of course. But there are no formal ranks.

I mean I wasn' the best sheriff but I still managed it. Never broke the law, never murdered anybody who didn'... I mean zombies..

[Dick shrugs.] Not everyone who comes here is a hardened criminal. My first inmate was with the Massachusetts State Police.

Anywhere from a few weeks to a couple months. There's not really a schedule. Pairings happen on the 15th and 30th of every month.

It's far from an ideal system, but no offense, no one knows if they can trust you. We had a guy show up pretending to be a frail, elderly man who needed help, and he murdered two people who went to help him. Once you've got a warden, they'll have your file and be able to decide if you should have access to a weapon.

That is correct. I would usually suspect that it was some sort of security measure. If there's no database, no one can abuse the information therein. But I doubt the Admiral has that much forethought.
