[Post This Shane is sitting in a common room. Serious.

It's worth noting that he's wearing a uniform. A sheriff uniform. He went out and got drunk see, so he's trying to just figure things out. Those of you who might pass by, if you're in the neighborhood will note he reeks of alcohol.]

How many of you are actual law enforcement professionals, former, retired, here for rehabilitation or whatever. No disrespect t'anybody who's workin' outside the law for justice. Lord knows I earned my stripes on a wing and a prayer but...

[Megamind got to him.

He never thought he'd actually be doing this. It feels so weird. He'd left this, the idea of law and order behind but oh god he needs normalacy, he needs people that aren't blue with giant heads that think he's an animal. Ever seen the Matrix where Neo realizes just how screwed he is and he throws up? Shane is close to that.]

[He'd meant to follow up after. Tommy doesn't get many potential friendlies, let alone friends in general; when he gets a whiff of the guy with the gun he figures he should probably go say hi.

And then the wave of booze hits him. There's a momentary expression of distaste, just because it's so damn strong to his canine nose, but he's spent enough time in a bar that it's manageable. At least it's only one guy. So he strides on over, posture every inch a wannabe-alpha that can't back up the claim, neutral but friendly expression in place, and actually fully dressed this time. Ratty t-shirt and old jeans over well-used boots, but hey. Dressed is dressed, and he's not about to break out the Merlotte's t-shirt yet.]

Yeah, guess that about makes sense.

[The uniform. Explains the gun, explains the fact that he was trying to help, more or less.]

[A sentiment which he evidently doesn't really agree with 100%, but Jesse's not a complete dick so whatever.]

I had t'kind of remind myself that if I'd gone and hit him it'd be like hittin' a dog or a cat or somethin' and I don't...I don't do that.

[Oh my god you said Parish. Shane perks up at that] ..King's County Georgia. You?

There's a long pause. He has to actually think about this one, which is a pretty good sign the next thing out of his mouth is a lie.]

[Shane is too drunk to notice] My ma was from Louisiana. Damn glad to meet somebody from...some kinda home I guess. [He's willing to bet you don't have dead people walking around.]

Ain't sure about home exactly, but yeah.

[Arkansas, Louisiana...it's close enough. And if it makes him feel better to pretend he's not from a trailer park, he figures it's not really doing anybody any harm anyway. Not like he didn't spend enough time in Bon Temps anyway.

...No it doesn't only last a couple of days it just sits there and grows and festers.

Maybe where you're from, but it ain't the way it works around here. All the weird shit? ...weirder than normal shit? Only ever lasts a couple days. Then everything goes back to normal.
