[There is silence on the feed for the longest time, then snow static. Anyone who might be watching their feed will be watching it dissolve into almost painfully loud crackles and pops of snow - then the interference of White Noise.]

[But then, the white noise filters out with an abrupt stop - and we join a conversation in progress. To those of you who might have met Shane, you might recognize his voice. The other however is a mystery.]

...Lori I don't know how you got here the last thing I remember was Rick tellin' me he had to stab me in the chest ... [the pain is palpable]

He became crazy after that Shane! [The voice sounds...off. It sounds a little like this. The voice of a dying woman, the voice of the damned.] Crazy. He hurt me, he hurt Carl...

...Hurt you?

He hurt me Shane. And this baby. [There's a soft sob.] This baby, yours...I trusted him with our lives and it was all a mistake. What does a man who clings to his humanity in a world like ours have to offer anyone? What place does living have in a world made of the mother-fucking dead! [harder sobbing.]

[There's a thump, shuffling sounds almost like two people holding each other]

Don' cry Lori. Don't cry please. I'm gonna fix this. I knew you'd believe me. [He sounds almost in tears.] I knew. I didn' want it to come to that be he just couldn' cut it. Thinkin' a man has...has the right to trust another anymore...he doesn'. I'll fix it. Just like Atlanta, Lori - I thought you wouldn' understand, I thought you'd be angry...

Angry? No. No no baby, no. I'm here. Carl's here too. Daryl, all our friends, outside. [She sounds excited, eager, grinning.] In the camper. It'll be like it should have been. Rick was dead, he needs to stay dead... like these people. It's not your fault. You were alone, isolated...but I'm here now Shane. I'm yours. You won Shane. No one is going to tell you any different anymore.

[Cue muffled wet sounds, a thud. Then Shane speaks.] ...This boat. The dead boat, with all the dead people. Tha's what they said. They're all dead. And we got sent here cause we did...bad things.

I think you said it best...yourself. [Her tone is thoughtful, educating, gently nudging.] They're dead.

[Dead implies a lot of things to Shane Walsh. You would have to be blind, deaf, dumb, and a fool not to hear the finality in the woman's tone. Dead means walkers, dead means monsters, dead means living creatures who should not have been given a second chance.

Silence, static and that white noise again before the feed switches to video. It's a room, one of the guest rooms and the camcorder has been left on laying across a white blanket and a white bed. In the camera is Shane Walsh, with one arm wrapped around a corpse.

She's dead, she's clearly been dead for some time and when he lays her back on the bed she's dressed in an old camping shirt jeans and he...is weeping. There's blood and decay smeared across his features as he stares down at the zombie smiling. Her hair has rotted off her features and her eyes stare the camera down, skin pale, pallid and stiff and sore.]

I love you Lori. I love you so damn much...

[He places a hand on her chest...and something visibly changes. There's a shift in the air.

His heart pounds. One hand raises slowly...shaking. That woman is still there, except now it's like she's staring at the camera instead of up at Shane. Staring at the camera with decaying eyes.

There's a subtle filtering of white noise over this, coupled with a low tone. The corpse remains stiff, prone and frozen.

The tone rises.

It drowns out his scream, like some twisted direction, his horror-filled look and the corpse staring up at the ceiling with rotted eyes, no lips and soft facial tissues...and the feed cuts.]

[An hour later, maybe two, maybe three (who can tell with time when you're on Vacation?) There's a second text from Shane sent to everyone.]

You're all pretty much dead anyway

[The hotel and his dead girlfriend-who-was-also-his-best-friend's-wife said so.]

[Castiel's only seen a little of Shane from the video, but he moves quickly, practically teleporting from place. He stops mid-hallway as he notices something that looks like that man.

Castiel looks gaunt and haggard, and every so often he looks over his shoulder and hisses something in a harsh, intelligible language. He stares at Shane in silence.]
